 Chakyamuna, from the sanskrit for Sacred Water, is built on a ravine of the holy Petanu River. Chakyamuna also appears in Tibetan, often transliterated as Shakyamuni. Our focus is to provide comfortable and relaxing accommodations in a beautiful natural setting, while promoting a sustainable and self sufficient local and global village by reducing the burdens of tourism and development on the eco-system through the practice and education of permaculture techniques.
Chakyamuna resort uses only eco-friendly cleaners, which are hand produced from non-toxic materials. We practice a reduce, recycle, reuse approach to waste management. We support and encourage organic farming practices in the community, and are in the process of starting our own organic farm. We provide ongoing education in permaculture, for increasing awareness. Chakyamuna-Sacred Waters features four comfortable and spacious standard rooms, with four more opening soon, each with air conditioning, patio overlooking the beautiful Petanu river and western style bathroom with bathtub. The water running through the hotel is directly from a natural spring source, and is safe to drink. Many believe that the water from the spring and river have healing and cleansing properties. Also filled with fresh, natural spring water is our luxurious swimming pool. As we use no chemicals in the pool's maintenance, it is cleaned and refilled on an average of once a week directly from the spring. The pool is nestled into the ravine overlooking the river and has the refreshing feel of a secluded jungle lake.
